Remaining European/UK Tour Dates Cancelled Due to Tom Morello’s Mother’s Illness
Rage Against The Machine, etc. guitarist Tom Morello has once again had to cancel his remaining European and UK tour dates due to his 102-year-old mother, Mary Morello, being hospitalized. Morello paused his tour earlier this month to return home and support his mother, resuming touring after her health improved. Unfortunately, rescheduled shows have now been canceled as Morello needs to assist in caring for his mother.
In a recent social media post, Morello expressed his gratitude to fans and supporters for their understanding and well-wishes during this challenging time. He emphasized the importance of unity and love as he shared his disappointment at missing out on the European and UK tour experience with his audience. Morello mentioned that he looks forward to reuniting with fans and continuing the musical and social movement they have collectively embarked on.
Unfortunately, this means that Tom Morello will no longer be able to perform at the Tons of Rock Festival or the BBK Music Legends Festival as originally planned. Refunds for the headline shows in London and Paris will be made available to ticket holders directly through the point of purchase.
This turn of events comes amidst a wave of activism from Morello, known for his outspoken political views and social justice advocacy. Morello has consistently used his platform as a musician to address important political issues and to promote social change. He believes that musicians have a responsibility to engage with politics and use their influence to advocate for positive change.
His commitment to speaking out against injustice and fascism is evident in his collaborations with other musicians, such as his recent anti-ICE track with System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian. Morello’s passion for social activism extends beyond his music, as he actively participates in various social justice causes and organizations.
Despite facing setbacks in his touring schedule, Tom Morello remains dedicated to his craft and his commitment to making a difference in the world. His resilience and determination to fight for a better future serve as an inspiration to fans and fellow musicians alike. As Morello navigates this challenging time with his mother’s health, his message of love, unity, and empowerment continues to resonate with all who support his work.
