ONE OK ROCK, Paledusk, Awich, and CHICO CARLITO join forces as YAO for Red Bull’s latest project.
Awich, CHICO CARLITO, ONE OK ROCK, and Paledusk have joined forces to form YAO for the premiere episode of Red Bull IN-YO!, a fresh video series featured on Red Bull Mic, the Japanese hip-hop YouTube channel. This innovative series aims to combine hip-hop with different genres, with the initial collaboration bringing together these four acclaimed artists from the rock and hip-hop genres.
Awich, recognized as a prominent figure in Japanese hip-hop, teams up with rapper CHICO CARLITO, while ONE OK ROCK and Paledusk, two globally renowned rock bands, represent the rock music side of the collaboration. The fusion of these diverse sounds demonstrates a collision between the rock and hip-hop realms, creating a unique musical experience for fans.
YAO has also launched official Instagram and YouTube channels, hinting at the possibility of future projects extending beyond this initial collaboration. The title of the series, Red Bull IN-YO!, is derived from the Chinese concept of yin and yang, symbolizing the balance between opposing forces. In this case, the collaboration between hip-hop and another genre is referred to as “rhyme and yang,” suggesting that external genres contribute to hip-hop culture, resulting in the creation of innovative music.
Previously, ONE OK ROCK had collaborated with Paledusk and CHICO CARLITO on the track ‘C.U.R.I.O.S.I.T.Y.’ in 2025, featured on the band’s 11th studio album ‘DETOX’. These four artists graced the same stage earlier this year at ONE OK ROCK’s music event, DOCOMO PRESENTS THE MUSIC STADIUM 2026, which attracted over 120,000 fans at MUFG Stadium (Japan National Stadium) over two days.
