Billy Strings is preparing to release his eagerly awaited new album, “So Much for Goodbyes,” on August 28th via Reprise Records. The first single from the album, “Burn the Other End,” is out now, along with an accompanying music video. The album, which consists of 16 tracks, was produced by Strings and T Bone Burnett. Strings shares that he created this record as a tribute to his late mother, using his guitar as a coping mechanism to channel his grief into art.

The artwork for “So Much for Goodbyes” was personally created by Strings’ mother, Debra Apostol. The album will be available on vinyl in three variants and has been produced entirely in the U.S., giving it a unique touch. Strings will return to PBS’ Austin City Limits program on July 2, marking his first performance since recovering from a leg injury earlier in the year. The performance will be livestreamed on ACL TV’s YouTube channel and will air as part of Season 52 this fall.

Strings will continue his headline tour, with shows at various venues across the country, including Boston’s Agganis Arena, Portland’s Cross Insurance Arena, Denver’s Ball Arena, Inglewood’s Kia Forum, and San Diego’s Pechanga Arena. Additionally, Strings will host the sold-out inaugural “Ionia Freak Fair” in his hometown on August 28th and 29th, featuring performances from himself, Sierra Hull, Greensky Bluegrass, and more.

Strings’ career has been on an upward trajectory, earning him widespread acclaim and recognition. With three Grammy Awards under his belt, including two wins for Best Bluegrass Album, Strings has solidified his position as a rising star in the music industry. His latest album, “Highway Prayers,” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, making it the first bluegrass album in over two decades to achieve this milestone.

In addition to his solo work, Strings has collaborated with various artists across different genres, showcasing his versatility and musical prowess. His upcoming album, “So Much for Goodbyes,” promises to be a deeply personal and reflective body of work, showcasing Strings’ growth and maturity as an artist. With an extensive tour schedule and a dedicated fan base, Strings is set to continue captivating audiences worldwide with his exceptional talent and unique musical style.
