Gunshine, a rock band hailing from Florida, has recently dropped their newest single and accompanying music video, titled “Shark Lounge.” This track is the sixth song to be unveiled from their eagerly awaited full-length album, Grand Rising, which is set to be released digitally on July 24 by vnclm_ / Create Music Group.

“Shark Lounge” draws inspiration from a renowned nightlife spot in Daytona Beach, Florida, known for its wild and over-the-top atmosphere before its ultimate closure. The song captures the essence of this infamous venue with its sleazy riffs, larger-than-life storytelling, and unapologetic rock ‘n’ roll attitude. It encapsulates the absurdity and extravagance of the locale, embodying a fun and raunchy energy that complements the band’s hard-hitting sound. To enhance the track further, Gunshine collaborated with Michael Starr, frontman of Steel Panther, whose distinctive vocals and larger-than-life persona perfectly suit the song’s playful celebration of rock excess.

Lead guitarist Austin Ingerman sheds light on the inspiration behind the song: “The song is based on a famous strip club in Daytona Beach that was known for all kinds of debauchery. There were stories of prostitution, drugs, grandma strippers, pregnant strippers, even a dancer with a peg leg, and they all performed above a live shark tank with an actual shark swimming below.” The lyrics exude a lively and cheeky vibe that aligns with the track’s overall theme.

Gunshine took extra care in the production process, with Austin Ingerman handling the guitars, bass, and vocals recording in Pensacola, FL. Drums were played by Chris Collier at Ray Luzier’s studio in Nashville, dubbed “lose yer ear studios.” Chris also undertook the mixing and mastering of “Shark Lounge” and the entire album.

“Grand Rising” not only showcases Gunshine’s musical evolution but also exemplifies their ability to experiment with new sounds while remaining true to their rock roots. The album promises a diverse sonic experience that pushes boundaries while retaining the band’s signature swagger, hooks, and high-energy vibe, all of which have garnered them a devoted fan base.

The physical copies of “Grand Rising,” including CD and double vinyl editions, are currently available for purchase online. In addition to the album, fans can explore exclusive Gunshine merchandise at their online store. The band is also planning to sell CDs and double vinyl versions at their live shows.

Gunshine’s frontman Austin Ingerman expressed, “We tracked the whole record, (except “Goth Girl” and “Single Looks Good On You”), in Las Vegas with producer/mixer Chris Collier (Korn, Mick Mars, Whitesnake, Lynchmob). I’ve been working with Chris for about 9 years now. He’s incredibly talented, has a great ear, and adds a heavy hitting production value that makes the songs sonically translate very well.”

Originating from Pensacola, Florida, Gunshine has gained recognition for their infectious vocal melodies, sharp lyrics, blistering guitar work, and a formidable rhythm section. Their music blends raw rock ‘n’ roll attitude with a melodic pop sensibility, creating tracks that pack a punch while remaining catchy. Their electrifying live performances further solidify their reputation as a powerful musical force.

With “Grand Rising,” Gunshine continues to raise the bar, presenting an exciting evolution in their musical journey. The album promises a dynamic listening experience filled with genre-bending elements, mood shifts, and captivating vibes, all while staying true to the band’s distinctive style. Featuring 13 tracks, each worthy of a standalone release, “Grand Rising” is poised to become a modern rock classic.
