Temperance Movement Reveals New Album ‘New Promise Land Incorporated’
The Temperance Movement is back with their latest album, ‘New Promise Land Incorporated,’ set to be released on October 9th through Earache Records. This will be their fourth studio album, and to kick off the excitement, they have released a new single titled “Eat You Alive.”
Lead guitarist Paul Sayer describes the album as a return to their roots, reminiscent of their first album. The band recorded the album live to tape, just like they did in their early days. With Ethan Johns onboard this time, they aimed to capture the essence of being in the room with The Temperance Movement.
Frontman Phil Campbell shares that “Eat You Alive” was one of the initial songs written for the album. The lyrics reflect his journey from the Somerset countryside to writing with the band in Glasgow, contrasting rural life with urban realities. He expresses dissatisfaction with the controlled and conservative atmosphere compared to the more liberal environment of his youth in the 90s. The fear of being devoured for supporting the wrong side or standing up for justice against all odds resonates with people of all ages in the current world.
The album, ‘New Promise Land Incorporated,’ marks a new era for the band, recorded in April 2026 and helmed by acclaimed producer Ethan Johns. This release showcases the raw energy that defines The Temperance Movement, promising fans the powerful live-to-tape experience, soulful songwriting, bluesy riffs, grooves, and the undeniable chemistry of the band coming together at the perfect moment.
From the dynamic “Shadows” to the compelling “Eat You Alive,” the album seamlessly transitions between explosive rock and moments of vulnerability. Tracks like “Mongrels” display the band’s ability to craft beauty subtly, while “Saving Grace” offers emotionally rich songwriting.
The result is an album that feels authentically human, capturing everything that has made The Temperance Movement stand out over the years, both in the studio and on stage. Their resurgence in the rock scene in the 2010s solidified their position as a force to be reckoned with, drawing inspiration from legends like The Black Crowes, The Faces, and The Rolling Stones.
After a hiatus following their successful album ‘A Deeper Cut,’ the band made a triumphant return in 2025, with sold-out shows and enthusiastic responses from fans. Their upcoming album release will be followed by a major tour across the UK and Europe, solidifying their status as one of the most anticipated rock comebacks of 2026.
With ‘New Promise Land Incorporated,’ The Temperance Movement proves that they are back and stronger than ever, ready to captivate audiences once again with their signature sound and electrifying performances.
