The Coral reveal first tour in three years and release video for ‘Leave It In The Past’
The Coral have revealed plans for their first headline UK tour in nearly three years, following the surprise release of their thirteenth album, “388.” The upcoming tour will feature performances on the following dates: October 2 at Foundry in Sheffield, October 9 at Boiler Shop in Newcastle, October 10 at Project House in Leeds, October 16 at KOKO in London, October 23 at Albert Hall in Manchester, and October 24 at O2 Institute 2 in Birmingham. Tickets for all shows are set to go on sale this Friday, July 3, at 9:30 am through The Coral’s official website.
For this tour, The Coral will be joined by support acts including Mozart Estate, led by Lawrence of Denim and Felt, and singer-songwriter Dave McCabe from The Zutons. Additionally, The Coral will also be performing at three arena support dates with The Mary Wallopers. The band’s latest music video, “Leave It In The Past,” showcases them playing amidst the vibrant environment of Birkenhead Market, under the direction of James Slater.
Lead vocalist and songwriter, James Skelly, shared his thoughts on the significance of Birkenhead Market as a setting for the video, stating: “Ian and I used to live above a pub in Charing Cross, Birkenhead and wander round the market at weekends. It was a magical place to us. The atmosphere of the place, and the characters you still find there, reflect the ethos of 388. It’s simultaneously of today and another time entirely.”
The Coral’s return to the spotlight with new material and a tour announcement has been met with enthusiasm from fans who have been eagerly awaiting the band’s comeback. The band’s unique blend of introspective lyrics and nostalgic soundscapes has solidified their place in the indie music scene, and their upcoming performances are sure to captivate audiences across the UK.
As music lovers prepare for The Coral’s highly anticipated tour, the band continues to uphold their iconic status as purveyors of timeless music that resonates with listeners on a deeply personal level. With the release of “Leave It In The Past” and the announcement of their upcoming tour dates, The Coral reaffirm their position as one of the most beloved and enduring bands in the UK music scene.
