Metasoma, a metalcore band from London, has undergone a transformative evolution shedding their hard-rock persona to emerge as a technical heavy metal powerhouse. Their new EP, titled “Core,” represents a significant step for the band as they bring together elements of British rhythmic weight with the fierce metal traditions of the Polish and Romanian underground scenes.

A key element in this new direction for the band is their latest music video release, “Omen,” which serves as a precursor to the unveiling of their EP “Core” scheduled for release on the 2nd of August 2026. The band describes “Omen” as a representation of the ongoing societal chaos, particularly focusing on themes of war and its associated turmoil that they have sought to encapsulate in their evolving sound.

Working in collaboration with engineer Filip Halucha of Heinrich House Studio, known for his work with Behemoth and Vader, Metasoma has crafted a new sonic landscape. The lead single of the EP, “Downfall,” sets the tone for the intricate and incisive approach taken in the remaining tracks, produced by Dawid Konrad Rydz. Drawing inspiration from Alter Bridge’s melodic finesse and infusing it with the relentless rhythmic intensity of Pantera, the band has cultivated a sound that balances technicality with raw power.

Vlad’s vocal delivery stands out as a controlled explosion of chaos, meeting the dual-guitar assault and solid rhythm section with a fierce intensity. Thematically, “Core” delves into a dark and introspective realm, exploring themes of war, propaganda, and the distorted realities of modern society. Despite the high-velocity energy of the music, there are subtle nods to System of a Down, showcasing Metasoma’s ability to incorporate cerebral elements without compromising their hard-hitting groove.

Having built a strong foundation through live performances alongside acts like Vader and Sanctuary, and headlining iconic venues like London’s The Underworld, Metasoma has cemented their place in the heavy music scene. The upcoming EP “Core,” recorded across studios in Poland and London, reflects a band that is acutely aware of the world around them. Their music serves as a warning, projecting a vision that is both resilient and honest, marking the beginning of a new era for the band.

Scheduled for release on the 2nd of August 2026, “Core” promises to be a significant milestone in Metasoma’s musical journey. With a lineup comprising Vlad Iancu on vocals, Michal Sedzielewski and Artur Wojcik on guitars, Bolo on bass guitar, and Joe Patterson on drums, the band is set to embark on a new chapter in their musical evolution.
