TOXIC YOUTH continue Milan hardcore legacy with “Join Da Resistance”
Toxic Youth brings raw energy and passion to the hardcore music scene with their latest release, “Join Da Resistance.” The Milan-based band makes no attempt to hide behind a new-era gloss, opting instead for a sound that harks back to the roots of hardcore. Fast drums, tight crossover riffs, prominent bass lines, and infectious choruses come together to create a track that demands attention and gets the blood pumping.
“Join Da Resistance” is the sixth song from Toxic Youth’s latest album, “Still Hungry,” which dropped on July 11, 2025. The official video for the track premiered on July 2, 2026, capturing the band’s relentless dedication to their craft. Toxic Youth’s commitment to their underground roots shines through in every note, drawing on the timeless essence of punk, hardcore, thrash, grind, and crossover genres.
With a history dating back to Milan’s hardcore scene in 1990, Toxic Youth’s journey has been one of evolution and resilience. After disbanding in 2007, the group made a triumphant return in 2018 with drummer Hicham, a seasoned musician who has also performed with bands like Calibro 9 and Cattiva Condotta. Since their comeback, Toxic Youth has shared stages with iconic acts such as Sick Of It All, Siberian Meat Grinder, and Raw Power, solidifying their status in the hardcore community.
“Still Hungry” is more than just an album; it’s a testament to over 30 years of dedication, collaboration, and a relentless pursuit of musical excellence. The record represents a mature culmination of the band’s chemistry, honed through countless hours of rehearsal and a shared passion for pushing the boundaries of hardcore music. In contrast to their previous release, “Back To You-th,” the songs on “Still Hungry” hit harder and faster, with a renewed sense of vigor and purpose.
The current lineup consists of Ale on vocals, Cristian on guitar, Novo on bass guitar, and Hicham on drums. Recorded at ADSR Decibel Studio in June and July 2024 by Carlo Meroni, known for his work with various metal acts, “Still Hungry” showcases the band’s unwavering commitment to their craft. From the powerful lyrics penned by Alessandro Di Lallo to the dynamic guitar work of Cristiano Perinelli, every aspect of the album is designed to leave a lasting impact on listeners.
Featuring guest guitarist Manuel Merigo of In.Si.Dia on the track “The First” and striking artwork by Motorcity Graphics from Turin, “Still Hungry” is a cohesive and compelling body of work. The album’s title serves as a poignant reminder of the band’s unyielding hunger for musical exploration and growth. Toxic Youth’s ability to draw inspiration from their past while looking towards the future sets them apart as a force to be reckoned with in the hardcore music scene.
