Hillary Fisher, Haven Burton, Kyle Taylor Parker, Graham Rowat, and others join the cast of Paper Mill production
Paper Mill Playhouse has recently announced the full cast for its exciting new production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid set to grace the stage in Millburn, New Jersey, from May 29th to June 29th, with the official opening night slated for June 1st. This production marks the grand finale of Paper Mill’s 2024-2025 season and is being helmed by the esteemed director and choreographer JoAnn M. Hunter, known for her work in productions like School of Rock and Bad Cinderella.
The stellar cast lineup includes Hillary Fisher in the lead role of Ariel, Haven Burton portraying Ursula, Nick Cortazzo as Jetsam, Mark Doyle as Prince Eric, Sean Patrick Doyle playing Flotsam, Jared Goldsmith taking on Scuttle, Christopher Gurr as Grimsby, Aubrey Matalon portraying Flounder, Kyle Taylor Parker as Sebastian, and Graham Rowat embodying King Triton. The ensemble will feature an array of talented actors such as David Baida, Caleb Bermejo, Kelsey Myron Cauthen, Tzintli Cerda, and more, who will breathe life into the magical world of The Little Mermaid.
Based on the classic tale by Hans Christian Andersen and the beloved Disney film, The Little Mermaid brings together music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a book by Doug Wright. Audiences can expect to be enchanted by timeless tunes like “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Poor Unfortunate Souls.” The original Broadway production had a successful run of 50 previews and 685 regular performances at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre from November 3, 2007, to August 30, 2009.
The Paper Mill production promises to dazzle audiences with original scenic design by Kenneth Foy and scenic coordination and additional design by Kelly James Tighe. Costume design credits go to Amy Clark and Mark Koss, with costume coordination and additional design by Leon Dobkowski. Lighting design will be handled by Charlie Morrison, sound design by Matt Kraus, and hair and wig design by Leah J. Loukas, creating a visual feast for theatergoers. Music direction by Nate Patten and flying sequence choreography by Paul Rubin add layers of artistry to the production.
