Music roundup: Rise Against, Chevelle, Avatar & I Prevail set to release new music
The music scene is buzzing with excitement as some of the top names in rock music are bringing the heat with new releases and tour announcements. Rise Against, after a four-year hiatus, has made a powerful comeback with the announcement of their new album, Ricochet, set to drop on August 15. The album’s first single, “I Want It All”, is already available for streaming, giving fans a taste of what’s to come. To add to the excitement, Rise Against will be hitting the road with Papa Roach on the Rise of the Roach Tour, making a stop at Pine Knob on September 28.
Not to be outdone, Chevelle has also returned after a four-year break with the announcement of their new album, Bright as Blasphemy, set to release on the same day as Rise Against’s album. The album’s first single, “Rabbit Hole (Cowards Part 1)”, has already made its mark on the rock radio charts, with the next track, “Jim Jones (Cowards Part 2)”, now available for streaming. Fans can catch Chevelle live at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre on August 19, bringing their signature sound to the stage.
Swedish metal band Avatar has also made a splash with the release of their new song and video, “Captain Goat”. Known for their unique and heavy sound, Avatar is sure to captivate audiences with their latest offering. While a full album announcement is yet to come, fans can catch Avatar on tour this fall, including a stop at The Fillmore on November 20.
Detroit’s own I Prevail has also made headlines with their new lineup and the release of their latest track, “Violent Nature”. Following the departure of singer Brian Burkheiser, the band is still going strong and delivering hard-hitting music for their fans. I Prevail will be hitting the road on their Summer of Loud Tour, with a stop at Pine Knob on July 16, alongside Beartooth, Parkway Drive, and more.
