Police in Atlanta report theft of unreleased Beyoncé music
Thumb drives that contained confidential unreleased music and other valuable information belonging to Beyoncé have been reported stolen by her lead choreographer and one of her dancers. According to the Atlanta Police Department, the incident occurred when Beyoncé’s choreographer, Christopher Grant, and dancer, Diandre Blue, left their belongings in Grant’s rental car at a parking garage in Atlanta while they went to dinner on July 8.
Upon returning, they discovered that the car had been broken into, and two suitcases containing five hard drives, MacBooks, and other items had been stolen. An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect, but no arrests have been made yet, and the suspect’s identity remains undisclosed. The suspect was reported to have driven a red 2025 Hyundai Elantra.
The police report revealed that the stolen hard drives contained a mix of Beyoncé’s unreleased music, watermarked music, footage plans for her upcoming show in Atlanta, and past and future set lists. Grant told the dispatcher during a 911 call that the stolen computers contained vital information that was trackable using Apple’s “Find My” feature. He stressed the importance of recovering the stolen items, especially considering his association with someone of high status.
In addition to the theft of the hard drives, valuable items such as Apple Max Pro headphones, Tom Ford sunglasses, a Tumi backpack, clothing, and shoes were reported stolen from Grant. Blue’s losses included a 13-inch Apple MacBook Air, a purse or wallet, and AirPods. Beyoncé had performances scheduled in Atlanta as part of her “Cowboy Carter” tour for her award-winning country album on July 10, 11, 13, and 14, with her final tour stops planned in Las Vegas on July 25 and 26.
The unauthorized access to Beyoncé’s unreleased music and other confidential information raises concerns about the potential leak of sensitive material. The police are actively investigating the theft and working to apprehend the suspect responsible for the crime. Beyoncé’s team, including Grant and Blue, are hopeful for the recovery of the stolen items to protect the integrity of Beyoncé’s work and prevent any unauthorized distribution of her unreleased music and show plans. The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by high-profile artists in safeguarding their intellectual property and personal belongings.
