Rock music enthusiasts can head to the Fairport Harbor Lighthouse Amphitheater for Jam By The Sand – Rock Through the Eras, a free, family-friendly rock festival featuring local food trucks, craft vendors, and performances by various artists. The day concludes with an after-party at The Lyric Bistro. In Madison Township, the 14th annual “Light Up the Park” event offers a day full of activities including live animal presentations, karate demonstrations, family games, vendor booths, bounce houses, and music from Rockwood Drive, with fireworks to cap off the night.
On August 10, Painesville hosts its Art in the Park event at Veterans Park, showcasing more than 50 artisans and vendors offering handmade goods, fine art, and crafts. The free event also includes live entertainment, children’s activities, and a variety of food trucks and sweet treats. Nature lovers can join a guided nature hike titled “Dog Days of Summer” at Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve. This auditory exploration will allow participants to experience the vibrant sounds of summer, from cicada buzzes to birdsong, during the hottest days of the year. Families are encouraged to register for the hike and come prepared with sturdy shoes and observation tools.
