Shaboozey, well-known for hits like “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” is set to make an appearance in movie theaters with his latest contribution to the soundtrack of the upcoming Stephen King film adaptation titled The Long Walk. Scheduled for release on September 12, the end titles of the movie will feature Shaboozey’s new song “Took a Walk,” which will be available on digital platforms from September 5.

Initially approached by Lionsgate, the studio behind the film, to use his song “Last of My Kind” in the trailer, Shaboozey was so inspired by the movie that he decided to create an entirely new track specifically for it. Reflecting on the film’s themes, he expressed a connection with the characters who cling to hope for a better future despite their seemingly bleak circumstances. Collaborating with musician Stephen J. Wilson, who contributed guitar to the song, Shaboozey aimed to capture the timeless and soulful essence of the movie in his music.

Based on Stephen King’s 1979 novel, The Long Walk, the film is set in a dystopian future where young men partake in a life-changing annual contest. Participants must walk along a predetermined route at a minimum speed of 3 miles per hour, and failure to maintain this speed results in elimination by gunshot. The competition concludes when only one man remains standing, offering the victor the ultimate prize.

The movie’s gripping narrative and poignant themes resonated with Shaboozey, prompting him to craft a powerful and emotive song that encapsulates the essence of hope and perseverance in the face of adversity. By delving into the characters’ struggles and aspirations, Shaboozey sought to create a musical accompaniment that enhances the viewers’ connection to the storyline and the emotional depth of the film.

With a blend of heartfelt lyrics and soul-stirring instrumentals, Shaboozey’s “Took a Walk” promises to be a fitting conclusion to the cinematic experience of The Long Walk. As audiences immerse themselves in the dystopian world of the movie, Shaboozey’s evocative song will serve as a poignant reminder of the enduring human spirit and the pursuit of a brighter tomorrow.
