Gold Rock Festival Returns to Bendigo

Indie rock enthusiasts can look forward to the upcoming Gold Rock Festival, which is set to return for its fourth and final edition in a few weeks. This year, the festival will be extended to a three-day event, taking place at the Golden Vine Hotel on King Street. Attendees can anticipate performances from various talented acts, including Castlemaine juniors Electric Heads, Melbourne’s Westall 66, and Geelong’s All Hope Remains.

One of the festival’s highlights will be a mystery co-headliner set to take the stage late on Saturday evening. Festival founder and organizer, Shann Lions, explained that the decision to end Gold Rock was driven by his need to focus on his growing career and the challenges of balancing his time and commitments. Despite this, he expressed gratitude for the local music community’s past support and encouraged fans to come out and show their support for the final installment of the festival.

Lions highlighted the unique selling points of Gold Rock, emphasizing that it is hosted at an independent venue, offers independent beer from Cornella Brewery, features independent bands, and boasts minimal costs for attendees. He acknowledged the importance of supporting local venues like the Golden Vine, which has been a staple of the Bendigo music scene since the late 90s. Lions urged attendees to show their appreciation for the venue’s ongoing contributions to the music scene by attending the festival, even if only for a few hours or one night.

Gold Rock 4 is scheduled to kick off on Friday, November 7th, and tickets are available for purchase through Humanitix. The festival promises a lineup of diverse and talented acts, providing an opportunity for music lovers to come together and celebrate independent music and local talent.
