White Fence reveals upcoming album ‘Orange’ with release of new single “Your Eyes” – Stereogum
Musician Tim Presley from California has a rich history in the music industry, with stints in various bands such as the Fall, the Nerve Agents, and Darker My Love, as well as creating psychedelic guitar rock under the moniker White Fence. While White Fence has been dormant for some time, their last album, “I Have To Feed Larry’s Hawk,” was released in 2019. However, the musical project is making a comeback with a new LP titled “Orange,” which was recorded in collaboration with Tim’s longtime partner, Ty Segall.
Ty Segall took on the role of producer for “Orange” at his Harmonizer II studio, and also contributed his drumming skills to most tracks on the album. Additional drumming by Dylan Hadley and keyboard work by Alice Sandahl can be heard on a couple of songs. Tim Presley’s description of the album sheds light on its themes of love, loss, addiction, rehabilitation, and self-reflection, inspired by the absurdity of life and a window reflection in San Francisco.
The lead single from “Orange,” titled “Your Eyes,” is a straightforward, catchy rock track with a lively groove that showcases a different side of White Fence, steering clear of any self-indulgent tendencies. A music video for “Your Eyes” has been released alongside the tracklist for the album, which includes songs such as “That’s Where The Money Goes (Seen From The Celestial Realm),” “Unread Books,” and “Blind Your Sun.”
The album, “Orange,” is scheduled to be released on 4/24 under the Drag City label, bringing fans a fresh collection of music that reflects Presley and Segall’s creative synergy. With themes that touch on various aspects of life and emotions, “Orange” promises to be an engaging and dynamic addition to White Fence’s discography.
As fans eagerly anticipate the album’s release, they can enjoy the lead single and look forward to experiencing the full collection of tracks that showcase a new chapter in White Fence’s musical journey. Stay tuned for more updates and details on the release of “Orange” as the date approaches.
