Renowned artist Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top fame presented his Billy F Gibbons and the BFG Band at the FM Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre on the night of February 19th. The set featured popular hits by ZZ Top such as “Jesus Just Left Chicago,” “La Grange,” and “Sharp Dressed Man,” in addition to lesser-known tracks and cover songs.
Accompanying Gibbons were seasoned musicians from the BFG Band – Chris “Whipper” Layton, recognized for his contributions to Double Trouble alongside Stevie Ray Vaughan, and his work with The Arc Angels and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Mike “The Drifter” Flanigin, skilled on the Hammond B3 organ, is a household name in the Texas blues scene and has collaborated with iconic artists like Jimmie Vaughan.
The journey of Gibbons and the BFG Band continues through the southern states this week, leading up to a grand performance at the Beacon Theatre on the 5th of March. Following this show, ZZ Top will embark on an extensive tour that launches from Amarillo, Texas on the 22nd of March, spanning across the United States and Europe until August.
