The iconic band, The Cranberries, is celebrating the 33rd anniversary of their renowned debut album “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?” by releasing a special Deluxe Edition. This anniversary edition, available through Island/Ume, offers seven different configurations, each with unique content. Fans can expect brand new 2026 stereo mixes by the album’s original producer, Stephen Street, as well as track-by-track notes from the band, art insights from the original designer Cally Callomon and photographer Andy Earl, and various remixes, including a dreamy rendition of “Linger” by Iain Cook of CHVRCHES.
Back in March 1993, when the album was first released, “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?” quickly climbed to No. 1 on the charts in both the UK and Ireland, ultimately selling over six million copies worldwide. The album produced two smash hit singles – the debut track “Dreams” and the follow-up ballad “Linger,” which solidified The Cranberries’ position in the rock music scene. Centering on the extraordinary vocal talents of Dolores O’Riordan, who tragically passed away in 2018, the album’s unique blend of Gaelic, Catholic, and indie influences struck a chord with audiences of all ages. O’Riordan’s poignant lyrics captured the universal frustrations of late adolescence, making the songs resonate with listeners around the globe. Over the past three decades, this meticulously crafted debut has withstood the test of time, earning a permanent place in the hearts of music lovers worldwide.
To commemorate this significant milestone, The Cranberries have meticulously curated the Deluxe Edition, ensuring fans receive a comprehensive and immersive experience. The inclusion of new stereo mixes, personal insights from the band members, and enhanced artwork and photographs adds a fresh dimension to the album’s enduring legacy. Additionally, the assortment of remixes, such as Ian Cook’s dreamy interpretation of “Linger,” offers a contemporary twist on the beloved classics, breathing new life into the timeless tracks.
As fans revisit this classic album or discover it for the first time through the Deluxe Edition, they are transported back to a bygone era of 90s rock, where The Cranberries’ ethereal sound and poignant storytelling captivated audiences worldwide. The enduring appeal of “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?” serves as a testament to The Cranberries’ lasting impact on the music industry and their ability to create timeless and emotionally resonant music that transcends generations.
