Palafittando is celebrating its 30th anniversary at the Ledro Pile-dwelling Museum with a packed schedule of events running from 4 July to 5 September. The museum, part of the ReLED network, has organized over 150 activities including workshops, guided tours, performances, concerts, and outdoor events aimed at families and the general public.

The festivities kick off on 4 July with the 24th edition of the Palafittiadi, known as the “Prehistoric Olympics,” featuring various competitions and games. Olympic champion Andrea Giovannini will be participating in the OnStage project, while the band Le Orme will headline the L’Età del Rock festival on 26 July.

Throughout the summer, there will be historical reenactments such as “Bezzecca Obbedisco” on 18-19 July and “Fermi in trincea” on 25-26 July. Visitors can also look forward to a series of XL guided tours focusing on the UNESCO site, interactive demonstrations at Piazza Preistoria showcasing robotics and 3D-printed artifacts, as well as artistic performances, contests, and nature-based activities.

The celebration culminates on 30 August with a special event marking both Palafittando’s anniversary and the ALPI project. The closing ceremony on 5 September will feature Palazzi Aperti, inviting visitors to explore historical buildings in the area.

Among the regular activities are the Merenda preistorica, a snack inspired by prehistoric times, the new Mini Preistoria tailored for children aged 3-6, weaving workshops, and Arch Attack sessions where participants can learn and recreate ancient techniques. These activities aim to connect the history of the Valley of Ledro with its archaeological treasures and natural surroundings, enhancing the region’s identity.

Visitors can find the Ledro Pile-dwelling Museum at Via al Lago, 1, 38067 Ledro TN, Italia. Through a series of engaging events and activities, Palafittando celebrates its three decades of promoting archaeology, history, and the cultural heritage of the region.
