Ela Minus and Nick León collaborate on new EP titled “qué les pasó a mis amigos?”

Titled “what happened to my friends?” the EP was co-produced by Minus and León and showcases a blend of León’s club-oriented production style and Minus’ punk-inspired approach to electronic music. The EP dives into themes of heartbreak, fractured friendships, and disillusionment, with its flagship track being “espiral”.

The collaborative journey between Minus and León began in 2024 when they first crossed paths in Mexico City. Following this meeting, Minus released her second album DÍA a year later, as León made his debut with A Tropical Entropy. The two artists started bouncing ideas off each other in Mexico City and continued to refine them during their time in Los Angeles this year. Their creative process was characterized by a sense of freedom and unspoken understandings about their shared vision, which León noted as being quite unique.

The EP, qué les pasó a mis amigos?, was mixed by Patrick Holland and mastered by Heba Kadry, showcasing the duo’s commitment to pushing their individual sounds through innovative experimentation. This release sets the stage for potential future collaborations between Minus and León. The digital release of the EP is set for August 7th, with a 12” vinyl edition following on November 20th. The vinyl edition will include remixes by Loidis, Guedra Guedra, and Brenda.
