Devil Master to Release New Album “Bloody Dreams” in September

Philadelphia-based band Devil Master has revealed the title of their upcoming new studio album as “Bloody Dreams.” The band, known for their blackened psychedelic goth punk sound, is set to release the album on September 4th through Relapse Records. The album’s guitarist, Darkest Prince, helmed the entire writing process for this new record. Fans can currently get a taste of what’s to come with the release of the Sick Slice Studios-directed video for the album’s lead single, “You Worms’ Vain Delusions.“

“Arthur Rizk, known for his work with Soulfly and Blood Incantation, took on the mastering duties for ‘Bloody Dreams’, while Eric Bogacz was in charge of engineering. The album features guest appearances from Chris Ulsh of Power Trip, Sigh‘s Mirai Kawashia, and Ur Èmdr Œrvn of Arkha Sva.

Commenting on the band’s vision, Darkest Prince explained, “The etymology of the word ‘gothic’ stems from the Gothic tribes initially labeled as barbaric. Over time, the term was associated with cathedrals deemed horrifying. Our music, combining elements of black metal and punk, embodies defiance, encapsulating the evolution of the word ‘gothic’ from barbaric punk to a spiritual, dark, supernatural essence.”

He further added, “I draw inspiration from Greek, Andean folk, and Cumbia music. Folk music is timeless, resonating across cultures, tapping into something primal and archetypal. Authors like W. B. Yeats have likened folk music to being proud and lonely, a sentiment that I identify with. While my music taste includes bands like G.I.S.M., Bathory, and Vlad Tepes, there’s a strong folk, punk, and psychedelic influence in our work.”

The tracklist for “Bloody Dreams” includes songs like “You Worms’ Vain Delusions“, “Trembling At Dusk“, “Sex With Succubus“, “Death Anthem“, “Bloody Dreams“, and “Farewell Waltz To Unfortune’s Palace.“

The band is gearing up for live performances, with tour dates on the horizon. Shows are scheduled across various European cities, from Poland to France, throughout September. It promises to be an electrifying showcase of Devil Master’s unique blend of music, merging goth punk with psychedelic and black metal elements.
