Rock Hall debuts exhibit showcasing women in metal with live performance by Halestorm
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is set to reveal a new exhibit today titled Women in Metal: You Will Know My Name, with a special performance by Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger from Halestorm to commemorate the event.
Featuring artifacts from influential women who have made their mark on the metal genre throughout different eras, the exhibit includes items from icons like Lita Ford, Alissa White-Gluz, Taylor Momsen, Courtney LaPlante, and more. The collection was curated by Assistant Curator Haley Cronin, who expressed the significance of highlighting the pivotal roles women have played in shaping metal music since its inception.
Speaking about her involvement in the exhibit, Lzzy Hale expressed her pride, stating, “I’m so proud to be a part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s ‘Women in Metal’ Exhibit… I’m honored to stand next to my sisters of scream.” In a recent interview with Loudwire, she emphasized the importance of recognizing the hard work and dedication of women in the industry, noting the long-overdue acknowledgment of their contributions.
Despite her comfort in performing on stage in front of thousands, Lzzy Hale admitted feeling nervous about giving a speech at the exhibit’s opening event. “I have to give a speech, which if you’ve ever seen me give my speeches, not that inside that I’m terrified,” she shared. “I can sing in front of thousands of people, but give me a podium and my ears get really hot.”
Halestorm, the band led by Lzzy Hale, has achieved significant success, selling over three million albums in the U.S. and earning a GRAMMY Award in 2012 for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance with their hit song “Love Bites (So Do I).” Their most recent album, Everest, was released in August 2025.
The opening event for the Women in Metal exhibit will take place at the outdoor PNC Stage at the museum, featuring performances by three bands following the acoustic set by Halestorm: Storms Within, Maxilla, and Reign of Z. Tickets are currently available for purchase on the museum’s website.
