Tony Levin Reflects on Life on the Road in New ‘Road Dogs’ Video
Tony Levin, the iconic musician associated with powerhouse projects like King Crimson and Peter Gabriel, has given fans an inside look into his life on tour with a new video release for “Road Dogs.” This track is featured on his latest solo album, Bringing It Down to the Bass, which became available in September.
The black-and-white video has a comic book-style aesthetic that showcases personal photos and footage from Tony’s career on the road. It includes glimpses from his recent BEAT tour, featuring notable artists like Adrian Belew, Steve Vai, and Danny Carey, paying homage to the 1980s era of King Crimson. The video also highlights Tony’s experiences working with King Crimson, Gabriel, and other projects, while also acknowledging the hard work of tour crews behind the scenes.
In Tony’s words, “We road dogs who tour all the time aren’t just the players onstage – as the lyrics say, there’s trucking, rigging, loading, and gigging.” He emphasizes that the video captures these essential behind-the-scenes moments. Bringing It Down to the Bass is currently available across various formats, including double vinyl, CD, Blu-ray, and digital streaming platforms.
