Cage Fight releases new single “IHYG (I Hate Your Guts)”
Metal group Cage Fight recently dropped a new single titled “IHYG (I Hate Your Guts)” along with a music video, with lead singer Rachel Aspe expressing that the lyrics are deeply personal, stemming from a harrowing and traumatic experience. Aspe revealed that the song is a reflection of a profoundly distressing event that profoundly impacted her life, stripping her of confidence and self-worth, ultimately leading her to a dark place. However, she emphasized that this experience served as a catalyst for her to delve into songwriting, resulting in the creation of this emotional piece. The music video serves as a visual narrative of this personal journey.
Guitarist James Monteith noted that since their debut album release, the band has undergone significant changes and has grown both musically and personally. This evolution has led to a more refined and cohesive vision for Cage Fight. “IHYG” serves as a glimpse into their musical progression, and the band is thrilled to showcase new music featuring their new bassist, Will Horsman.
Fans can catch Cage Fight performing at the esteemed Bloodstock festival this weekend, where they will kick off the main stage festivities on Saturday. Following this, the band will embark on a tour with Svalbard, consisting of five UK dates in November. This tour will mark the final shows for Svalbard, who recently announced their disbandment.
In addition to their musical endeavors, Cage Fight has ventured into the world of craft beer by releasing their own signature brew in collaboration with Radio City Beer Works, a microbrewery based in Chelmsford. Dubbed “PICK YOUR FIGHTER,” this all-Citra hopped Session IPA boasts a 4.8% ABV. Featuring a blend of Citra Hops in various forms, the beer offers a burst of flavors including grapefruit, lime, and mango.
