The FBI recently released new surveillance footage showing previously unseen clips of the suspect who placed explosive devices near the Democratic and Republican National Committee offices in Washington, DC. Officials have reinstated a $500,000 reward for any information that could aid in the suspect’s arrest.

The updated video reveals the suspect, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, and Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes with a yellow logo, as they planted pipe bombs outside the DNC and RNC headquarters on the night before the Capitol riot. The footage captures the suspect’s movements between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m., carrying a backpack and covering their face with a mask.

The individual, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, was observed walking through Capitol Hill neighborhoods, setting down a backpack believed to contain one of the bombs near South Capitol Street. Later, the suspect placed the first explosive device outside the DNC headquarters at around 7:54 p.m. before proceeding to the RNC headquarters, where the second bomb was planted. The individual vanished soon after.

The FBI has reiterated its $500,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the suspect responsible for the pipe bomb incident on January 5, 2021. The agency emphasized the importance of public involvement, stating that social media plays a significant role in generating new leads for investigations.

Deputy Director Dan Bongino expressed confidence in the agency closing in on suspects, highlighting the extensive efforts made by investigators in following leads, reviewing video files, and conducting interviews. While no injuries occurred during the incident, authorities emphasize the potential severity of the attack, especially considering then-Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were in proximity to the explosive devices.

The release of the new surveillance footage marks a renewed effort by the FBI to solve the case, underscoring the urgency of finding the individual responsible for the pipe bombs near the DNC and RNC offices to prevent any future incidents. The FBI encourages the public to come forward with any information that could assist in identifying the suspect and bringing them to justice. Public involvement is crucial in solving the case and ensuring the safety and security of all individuals.
