Puscifer to release first album in five years titled ‘Normal Isn’t,’ unveil 2026 tour dates and new video
Puscifer, the ever-evolving musical endeavor spearheaded by Maynard James Keenan, along with Mat Mitchell and Carina Round, will make a comeback with their latest album, Normal Isn’t, marking their first release in more than five years. The much-anticipated album is slated to hit shelves on February 6, 2026, through Puscifer Entertainment, Alchemy Recordings, and BMG. To coincide with the big announcement, the band has unveiled the music video for the album’s lead track, “Self Evident,” which was shot during an intimate performance at Exchange L.A. in August, where the group premiered the album in its entirety.
Crafted in Arizona, Los Angeles, and during their Sessanta tour, Normal Isn’t showcases Puscifer delving into darker musical elements inspired by their post-punk origins. Featuring guest appearances by Greg Edwards, Danny Carey, and Tony Levin, among others, the album promises an immersive sonic experience for fans. The band plans to promote the album with an extensive North American tour scheduled for spring 2026. The tour will kick off on March 20 in Las Vegas and draw to a close at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Tickets for the tour will be available for purchase starting at 10:00 AM on Friday.
Reflecting on the album, Keenan expresses their exploration of early influences and the convergence of goth and punk elements. He explains, “It’s the place where goth meets punk. It’s where I came from.” Round echoes Keenan’s sentiment by noting the collaborative nature of Puscifer’s creative process, highlighting the freedom to nurture ideas without restraint. Mitchell underlines the intentional rawness and edge infused into the album, citing the guitar’s role in elevating the music’s aggression quotient.
Explaining the thematic direction of Normal Isn’t, Keenan emphasizes the album’s reflections on the current societal landscape. He states, “As storytellers and artists, our job is to observe, interpret, and report. We take in our environment and share what we see, and what we see around us does not appear normal. Not by a long shot.” This sentiment underscores the band’s commitment to capturing and portraying the unconventional and eclectic nature of contemporary society through their music.
The album’s tracklist features a collection of songs that capture the essence of Puscifer’s distinctive sound, including tracks like “Thrust,” “Bad Wolf,” “A Public Stoning,” and “The Algorithm (Sessanta Live Mix).” The tour dates are set to take fans on a musical journey, with stops in major cities across the United States, from Las Vegas and Phoenix to New York and Chicago, culminating in a performance at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
As fans eagerly await the release of Normal Isn’t and the chance to experience Puscifer’s electrifying live performances, the band’s resurgence promises to deliver a captivating and immersive musical experience that transcends boundaries and defies conventions. With their unique blend of influences and artistic vision, Puscifer continues to push the boundaries of their craft, captivating audiences with their innovative approach to music and storytelling.
