Harvest Rock prepares for largest attendance to date in South Australia
The much-anticipated Harvest Rock festival in South Australia is gearing up to host its largest crowd ever this weekend. With over 28,000 attendees expected to flock to the event, a significant portion of them will be traveling from out of state to experience a diverse lineup of both international and local artists, as well as indulge in South Australia’s top-notch food and beverages.
The two-day festival has also made a positive impact on the city’s hospitality industry, with hotel bookings in metropolitan Adelaide showing a high occupancy rate of over 80% for this Friday and Saturday night. The 2025 Harvest Rock lineup boasts an impressive array of performers, including American country music star Jelly Roll on his debut Australian tour and iconic rock band from New York, The Strokes, in an exclusive Australian appearance. Attendees can also look forward to performances by The War on Drugs (Aus Exclusive), M.I.A., Vance Joy, Royel Otis, Wolfmother, Ministry of Sound Classical, Groove Armada (DJ Set), Cloud Control, and more.
Beyond the world-class musical acts, the festival will shine a spotlight on South Australia’s finest produce. The Amuse-Bouche Stage offers a unique blend of culinary, comedic, and musical experiences such as masterclasses, a ‘Truth or Hot Wing’ challenge, wine tastings, stand-up comedy, and surprise DJ sets. The Wildwoods precinct, curated by renowned chef Duncan Welgemoed, will showcase some of South Australia’s top restaurants including Africola Canteen, Smokin Grillers, The Filipino Project, Regent Thai, Anchovy Bandit, Patch Kitchen, Dirty Doris Diner, Bar Lune, and Hey Jupiter. Additionally, the Cellar Door will be back for its third installment at Harvest Rock, providing tastings of premium South Australian wines from regions like the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, and Barossa.
Since its inception, Harvest Rock has made a substantial impact on the state’s economy, contributing a total of $34.5 million over the first two years. The festival is a collaboration between Secret Sounds, Kicks Entertainment, and Live Nation, with support from the South Australian Government through the South Australian Tourism Commission.
Minister for Tourism, Zoe Bettison, expressed her excitement for the return of Harvest Rock, highlighting the festival’s unique combination of world-class music and high-quality local produce. She emphasized the positive economic impact the event will have on local businesses, particularly bars, restaurants, and hotels. Festival Director Ryan Sabet echoed this sentiment, praising the festival for showcasing the creativity and hospitality that Adelaide is known for, while also benefiting the community and supporting local artists and producers.
This year’s Harvest Rock promises to be a weekend to remember, embodying the spirit of South Australia and offering an unforgettable experience for both locals and visitors alike.
