Hiromi Uehara’s Sonicwonder tour coming to Europe in November
Japanese jazz pianist and composer, Hiromi Uehara, is embarking on a European tour this November with her band, Hiromi’s Sonicwonder. This tour follows the release of their new album “OUT THERE” and includes performances in the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, France, and the United Kingdom. After their European tour, Hiromi’s Sonicwonder will have several shows in China before concluding the year with an extensive tour in Japan.
Hiromi Uehara’s musical journey began at a young age when she showed remarkable talent while studying the piano. Her career took an upward trajectory when she was just 17 years old and had the opportunity to perform with Chick Corea in Tokyo. This collaboration led to their album “Duet.” Hiromi’s pursuit of music led her to Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1999, where she signed with the renowned jazz label Telarc and debuted internationally with her album “Another Mind” in 2003.
For those who watched the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony in 2021, Hiromi Uehara’s performance would not have gone unnoticed. Her music seamlessly weaves together elements from different genres such as classical, rock, fusion, funk, post-bop, and jazz, resulting in a unique and high-energy style. In October 2023, Hiromi released her twelfth studio album, “Sonicwonderland,” where she showcased her talent on the analogue synthesizer and electric piano alongside the acoustic piano. This album was followed by “OUT THERE” in April of the same year. The musicians comprising Hiromi’s Sonicwonder band are Hiromi Uehara on piano and keyboard, Adam O’Farrill on trumpet, Gene Coye on drums, and Hadrien Feraud on bass.
The European leg of Hiromi’s Sonicwonder tour in 2025 will kick off on Friday, November 7, at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven in the Netherlands, followed by shows in Groningen and The Hague. Their tour will then take them to Spain, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, France, and the United Kingdom before moving on to China. This diverse set of concerts will mark the culmination of a successful year as Hiromi’s Sonicwonder wraps up the season with performances in Japan.
