In the current phase of 2025, November continues to bring a dose of excitement, especially during its initial week. The weekend of November 7 is poised to be one of the most vibrant and musically diverse spans of the year, with contributions from Rosalía, The Mountain Goats, Mavis Staples, and several others converging at the same juncture. As we move forward into the month, well-established rock musicians like Cheap Trick and Danko Jones will make their return, marking the commencement of the holiday season. Here are the top 10 albums to look forward to throughout November.

Rosalía, known for her genre-defying blend of urbano, pop, jazz, flamenco, and various other styles, released her last album, Motomami, in 2022. The release of her upcoming album, Lux, is highly anticipated. The first showcased track from the album, “Berghain,” featuring musical contributions from Björk and Yves Tumor, emerges as one of the most dramatically engaging tracks of this year. Drawing inspiration from the renowned Berlin club of the same name, “Berghain” exudes an operatic essence and gives the impression of being backed by a full orchestra. Rosalía has hinted at collaborations with artists representing more traditional genres such as fado, urban sierreño, and flamenco.

Mavis Staples’ latest, Sad And Beautiful World, is set to arrive on November 7, marking her 14th studio album and first since 2019. This soul legend’s new work features guest appearances from notable artists including Bonnie Raitt, MJ Lenderman, and Justin Vernon. Staples’ timeless style is further enriched by the inclusion of compositions from contemporary voices such as Hozier and the cover of Frank Ocean’s “Godspeed” from Blonde. The album promises to be a timely and impassioned collection reflecting Staples’ decades-long expertise in the music industry.

The Mountain Goats present their 23rd studio album, Through This Fire Across From Peter Balkan, showcasing their signature dynamic and ever-evolving sound. The album details the narrative of a small crew marooned on a desert island, navigating diminishing resources and apocalyptic visions. Bolstering this maritime tale are former Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson and Broadway icon Lin-Manuel Miranda, adding a theatrical touch to the record, which the band describes as a “full-on musical.”

Danny Brown’s upcoming album, Stardust, set for release on November 7, promises an energetic and frenetic experience, in line with his chaotic musical style. Featuring artists such as hyperpop-rap duo underscores, the album maintains a high-octane tempo with tracks like “Starburst” and “Copycats.” Expect the collaboration to bring a blend of house piano riffs and glitched-out beats, adding a unique flair to Brown’s discography.
