The Cure Reveals Information about ‘The Show of a Lost World’ Concert Film
The Cure has revealed plans for the upcoming release of their concert film, “The Show of a Lost World,” which will feature all the tracks from their most recent studio album, “Songs of a Lost World,” released in 2024. The film is scheduled to be shown exclusively in theaters worldwide on December 11 for a limited period, with tickets set to be available for purchase starting on November 20.
Directed by British filmmaker Nick Wickham, known for his work with artists like Madonna and Shakira, the movie captures the band’s performance at the Troxy nightclub in London, where they played the entire album live for the first time. “The Cure: The Show of a Lost World” promises a revamped, remixed, and 4K remastered presentation of the 31-song show that evening, accompanied by a new surround sound mix by the band’s frontman, Robert Smith.
The album “Songs of a Lost World” marked The Cure’s return to the studio after a hiatus of 16 years since their last release in 2008. Apart from showcasing the new tracks, the concert film will also include a special five-song set in honor of the 45th anniversary of their second album, “Seventeen Seconds,” featuring classics such as “At Night,” “Secrets,” and “A Forest.” The show will also feature fan favorites like “Boys Don’t Cry,” “Just Like Heaven,” and “Pictures of You.”
In addition to the concert film, The Cure released a remix album titled “Mixes of a Lost World,” featuring contributions from artists such as Chino Moreno of Deftones, Paul Oakenfold, and Four Tet. The band is gearing up for a series of live performances in the UK and Ireland next summer, including appearances at festivals like the Isle of Wight, Primavera Sound, Nova Rock, and Rock en Seine.
Audiences can look forward to the release of the concert film on Blu-Ray/DVD and digital download formats later in December. Don’t miss the chance to experience The Cure’s iconic music and electrifying performance captured in “The Show of a Lost World.”
