Whitechapel releases video for “Prisoner 666” and announces November tour dates
Whitechapel recently unveiled a new music video for their song “Prisoner 666” from their album Hymns In Dissonance, which was released earlier this year by Metal Blade Records. The video arrives just before their upcoming November and December tour and adds depth to the band’s extensive lore present in their albums.
Vocalist Phil Bozeman commented on the track, stating that “Prisoner 666” was the initial song they composed which harks back to their earlier sound from the 2006-2010 era. The narrative of the “last living son” of the Father Of Lies unfolds as he renounces his faith, religion, sets fire to the church, and begins to serve Satan, whom he believes is his father.
Guitarist Alex Wade further explained that the track has a strong influence from “Saw Is The Law” from their 2014 album Our Endless War, but with added epic and melodic elements. The tempo is reminiscent of “Saw Is The Law,” but with a revamped and enhanced musicality.
Whitechapel is gearing up for their upcoming US tour, Rituals Of Hate, set to kick off next week, spanning over two dozen cities from November 12th to December 14th. The band will be performing Hymns In Dissonance in its entirety along with fan-favorite tracks. Joining them on this tour will be Bodysnatcher, Angelmaker, and Disembodied Tyrant.
The tour will commence on November 12th at The Norva in Norfolk, VA, and continue with shows in various locations including New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and many more cities across the US. The final show of the tour is scheduled for December 14th at the Mill & Mine in Knoxville, TN.
