Hannah Greathouse’s lifelong passion for music captured through photography
Hannah Greathouse, a 17-year-old from the Mid-Ohio Valley, attributes her personal growth to her deep-rooted love for rock music and photography. Her grandparents, Lisa and Rich Robinson, played a significant role in shaping her taste in music by exposing her to rock from a young age. Greathouse was drawn to rock music from childhood, and her love for the genre was further fueled when her grandparents took her to a rock festival in Ohio called INKcarceration, where she had the opportunity to see her favorite band, In This Moment, perform live.
While Greathouse enjoys singing, she is currently focused on learning to play the guitar. She plans to team up with her boyfriend, who is a guitarist, to create music. Greathouse’s involvement in the color guard for the Warren High School marching band reflects her profound connection to music. She dedicates several hours each day to color guard practice, alongside pursuing her studies at the Washington County Career Center and Washington State College of Ohio, where she is passionate about graphic design and video production.
As she navigates her senior year, Greathouse envisions a future working in marketing for rock festivals, with aspirations to launch her own concert marketing business eventually. Juggling academics, extracurricular activities, and various organizations like Business Professionals of America, Space Camp at Marietta College, student council, and Students Solving Problems keeps Greathouse busy. By meticulously organizing her schedule and commitments, Greathouse ensures she stays on top of her responsibilities and maximizes her time.
With college on the horizon, Greathouse is considering over 10 institutions, keeping her options open as she prepares for the next chapter. Beyond her academic and extracurricular pursuits, Greathouse finds fulfillment in connecting with people through her involvement in various organizations. She values the growth and experiences that come from stepping out of her comfort zone, embodying her motto of “go for it because the worst thing anyone can say is no.”
Photography plays a pivotal role in Greathouse’s life, with her capturing moments at skydiving centers, Bridge Day at New River Gorge, and other adventures with her grandfather, who is an avid skydiver. Even though she hasn’t experienced skydiving herself yet, Greathouse finds joy in documenting the experiences of others through her lens. The combination of her passion for rock music and photography continues to shape Greathouse’s personal journey, preparing her for a future where creativity, music, and visual storytelling intertwine seamlessly.
