Royal crisis leads to decision: Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor acts after losing title

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s situation is escalating as a result of losing his title, leading to him shutting down his business platform, Pitch@Palace Global Ltd. The former Royal made the decision to close the platform after facing unprecedented setbacks following the loss of his title. According to the British broadcaster BBC, Arthur Lancaster, the sole remaining director of the company, submitted the necessary documents to shutter the business with the British Companies House on Tuesday.

Pitch@Palace operated similarly to the BBC show “Dragon’s Den,” which aimed to connect young entrepreneurs with investors. Andrew claimed that the initiative had created 3,000 jobs, as reported by The Independent. Established in 2017, the platform was poised to potentially generate income for Andrew after King Charles III stopped providing financial assistance to his younger brother. Events for the platform were held at prestigious locations like St James’s Palace.

However, the business model had been on shaky ground for years. Following Andrew’s disastrous “Newsnight” interview in 2019 regarding his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Pitch@Palace halted its competitive operations. The British branch reportedly closed in 2021, with only the international division remaining. Recent financial records indicated a significant decline in assets, falling from approximately 300,000 euros to a mere 14,000 euros.

Towards the end of October, Buckingham Palace made an unprecedented announcement revoking all of Andrew’s royal titles and honors. This decision was prompted by his ongoing involvement in the Epstein scandal. Andrew was removed from the peerage and instructed to vacate the Royal Lodge in Windsor, relocating to an estate in Sandringham. His former wife, Sarah Ferguson, will also have to find a separate residence after 17 years of shared living post-divorce.

The closure request for Pitch@Palace stated that “This company has requested to be struck off and dissolved,” according to the Daily Mail. Furthermore, in the event of dissolution, all remaining assets within the company would be transferred to the Crown. Another entity linked to Andrew, Innovate Global Ltd., which was reportedly intended to serve as a rebranding of Pitch@Palace, also submitted a closure request on the same day. For the fallen Royal, this marks another step in his withdrawal from public life.
