New emails surface: Andrews’ embarrassing codename in Epstein affair revealed.
Newly revealed emails from the Epstein files have uncovered Andrew’s secret code name in correspondence with Epstein, shedding light on the importance of his title to the Royal. Despite losing his royal titles following the official removal of his Prince title by King Charles III in November 2025, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s connection to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein continues to haunt him. The Daily Beast recently reported on emails released by the House Oversight Committee, shedding new light on Andrew’s past involvement with Epstein.
The released emails from March 2011 reveal desperate communication between Andrew, Epstein, and Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell. Of particular interest is Andrew’s use of the alias “The Duke” in the emails, referencing his former title as the Duke of York, bestowed upon him by Queen Elizabeth II in 1986 after his marriage to Sarah Ferguson. This code name was likely chosen to maintain a sense of discretion, as Associated Press reports that Andrew was identified in Epstein’s contacts as “The Duke.”
These emails were prompted by a request from the British tabloid Daily Mail, who planned to publish allegations by Virginia Giuffre in March 2011. Giuffre had accused Andrew of sexually abusing her multiple times when she was a minor. In the released messages, Andrew pleads for support, stating, “Please make it clear in any statement or legal document that I am NOT involved and that I knew NOTHING about these allegations. I cannot bear this anymore,” as documented by The Daily Beast.
These revelations are significant, as they contradict Andrew’s claim in a notorious BBC interview from 2019 that he had severed ties with Epstein in December 2010. The emails from March 2011 clearly refute this assertion. Epstein himself attempted to reassure Andrew and undermine Giuffre’s credibility in the messages. Despite Andrew’s insistence that the infamous photo with Giuffre was doctored, Epstein acknowledged her presence on his plane and her photo with Andrew.
Andrew allegedly paid Giuffre several million pounds in 2022 to reach an out-of-court settlement. Tragically, Giuffre took her own life in April 2025 on her farm in Western Australia. Epstein died in 2019 in his prison cell, ruled a suicide by authorities. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence in a Texas prison. The newly revealed emails underscore Andrew’s deep involvement in the criminal network and his desperate attempts to salvage his reputation.
