Disney+ has recently released a trailer for the upcoming restored version of The Beatles Anthology series, a groundbreaking eight-part documentary that delves into the formation and meteoric rise of the iconic band, with the addition of a previously unreleased ninth episode.

Originally aired in 1995 in the United States and the United Kingdom, The Beatles Anthology will be available for streaming on Disney+ starting on November 26. The series has been meticulously restored and enhanced, featuring nine episodes instead of the original eight. The new episode promises viewers a glimpse of never-before-seen footage of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr during the making of the original 1990s Anthology series and music project.

The documentary follows the journey of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison as they reflect on the band’s whirlwind eight-year journey to international stardom. The reimagined Disney+ version showcases a fresh restoration of the footage, along with a revamped sound mix overseen by the Apple Corps production team in collaboration with director Peter Jackson’s crew at Park Road Post in Wellington, New Zealand.

A peek into the trailer reveals a nostalgic journey through the group’s early years, with Lennon recounting the simple beginnings of the band and the addition of members Paul, George, and Ringo. Archival footage captures Lennon expressing the overwhelming demands placed on the group, culminating in iconic moments like their historic appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in February 1964 and their groundbreaking performance at New York’s Shea Stadium in 1965.

The newly added ninth episode explores the reunion of McCartney, Starr, and Harrison in 1995 as they collaborated on the Beatles’ first “new” song since their disbandment in 1970, titled “Free as a Bird.” Apart from the original documentary series, The Beatles Anthology project includes a set of double albums with additional tracks like “Real Love” and a coffee table book released in 2000.

Despite the tragic loss of Lennon and Harrison, the band’s legacy endures, as captured in poignant moments from the series. Lennon’s words “Nothing will ever break the love we have for each other” and Harrison’s sentiment that “The Beatles exist without us” echo the enduring bond and influence of the legendary group.

Don’t miss the opportunity to relive the magic of The Beatles Anthology on Disney+ and immerse yourself in the captivating story of one of the greatest bands in music history.
