Metal Church has made a triumphant return with a revitalized lineup and the release of their latest single, “F.A.F.O.”, marking the beginning of a new era for the band. The 2025 lineup sees the return of founding guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof, along with guitarist Rick Van Zandt, bassist David Ellefson, drummer Ken Mary, and vocalist Brian Allen. Following a successful tour and their return from Australia, Vanderhoof experienced a surge of creative energy that inspired the formation of this new lineup. Their early studio sessions resulted in the creation of “F.A.F.O.”, a track that reignited the band’s drive and established the direction for their future endeavors.

The single was brought to life through the production work of Vanderhoof and the mixing/mastering talents of Zeuss at Planet Z. These initial sessions evolved into a full-fledged Metal Church album, set to be released in 2026 through Rat Pak Records, with further details to be disclosed at a later time. The band is gearing up to hit the road again next year, promising fans more exciting developments to look forward to.

Reflecting on this momentous occasion, Vanderhoof expresses his enthusiasm towards the band’s resurgence, stating, “After 45 years, the fact that we have new music coming in 2025 feels like a miracle. There was a time when I honestly didn’t think Metal Church would continue, but we’re back—and this lineup is firing on all cylinders. I can’t tell you how excited I am to have a new single on the way; that alone makes this moment incredibly special. ‘F.A.F.O.’ is an aggressive thrasher, and I think the fans are really going to dig it. We certainly do—otherwise it wouldn’t be Metal Church.”

As fans eagerly await the release of the new album, they can catch Metal Church live in action at various tour dates scheduled for 2026, including appearances at festivals like Brutal Assault, Alcatraz Festival, and Keep It True Festival. With a renewed sense of purpose and a fresh lineup, Metal Church is poised to continue their legacy and deliver hard-hitting music to their dedicated fan base.
