Esthesis steps out of line
Esthesis emerges as a musical entity led by Aurélien Goude, the brains behind the music, lyrics, and vocals. The band comprises members Arnaud Nicolau on drums, Marc Anguill on bass guitar, Rémi Geyer on lead guitar, and Mathilde Collet offering additional vocals. Stepping into their third album, the French group displays unwavering strength with a striking debut, “The Awakening,” followed by the success of “Watching Worlds Collide” in 2022.
Having shared the stage with Soen, Leprous, Crippled Black Phoenix, Myrath, and Opeth, as well as headlining their show at the Poppodium Boerderij in the Netherlands, Esthesis boasts a diverse sound spanning cinematic, art rock, experimental, and post-rock genres. Their music has been noted for sharp riffs, melancholic overtones, and powerful atmospheres with industrial and progressive elements. Drawing inspiration from a range of artists like Hans Zimmer, Tool, and Portishead, Esthesis embraces a sound reminiscent of Porcupine Tree and Steve Wilson.
