British metal powerhouse Sylosis is gearing up to kick off 2026 with a bang as they prepare to drop their seventh studio album, The New Flesh, on February 20, 2026, courtesy of Nuclear Blast Records. Leading the charge is the title track, a fierce single that encapsulates the band’s reinvigorated mission.
Hailing from Reading and established in 2000, Sylosis has spent the past twenty years honing their craft, earning a reputation for their unwavering dedication to musical excellence and unrelenting heaviness. The upcoming album marks a new chapter for founding member and guitarist/vocalist Josh Middleton, whose artistic vision has been instrumental in shaping the band’s unique approach to contemporary metal.
Recorded after an intense two-year period of touring, The New Flesh sees Middleton, alongside drummer Ali Richardson, guitarist Conor Marshall, and bassist Ben Thomas, coming together to create a work that serves as a testament to the band’s unity and unwavering focus. A setback came in 2013 after an RV accident temporarily halted their momentum, but the band quickly bounced back, continuing to dominate the UK and European festival circuits.
The release of Dormant Heart in 2014 was followed by a period of significant growth for the band, culminating in the addition of Ali Richardson to the lineup. Despite a brief hiatus in 2016 when Middleton joined Architects temporarily, Sylosis remained active behind the scenes.
Sylosis made their triumphant return in 2020 with Cycle Of Suffering, followed by a string of singles and livestream performances during the pandemic era. Their sixth album, A Sign Of Things To Come, dropped in 2023, highlighting a more polished approach to songwriting, rhythm, and lyrical depth.
Fast forward to 2024, and Sylosis found themselves in a constant state of creativity, eschewing long breaks in favor of a continuous flow of new material. Alongside this evolution came internal changes, including the departure of guitarist Alex Bailey and the promotion of Ben Thomas to his current role.
