Timeless Hit: Black Eyed Sons perform “Savoir Faire” originally by Mink DeVille
Black Eyed Sons, a band composed of members from The Quireboys and Down ‘n’ Outz, have returned with a visually captivating treat for their final release from the debut album. They chose to cover Mink DeVille’s classic “Savoir Faire” from the record “Cowboys in Pinstriped Suits”, which topped the UK charts. The latest video effortlessly merges the band’s lively performance with a cinematic look that pays homage to the character of the Bowery, the vibrant lights of Times Square, and the heartbeat of rock clubs in downtown New York. This love letter to the mid-seventies era, heavily inspiring the band members, highlights that Mink DeVille’s spirit continues to resonate in today’s rock scene.
The band pulled in Alan Clayton from The Dirty Strangers for the track. Frontman Guy Griffin discussed the collaboration and concept behind the video, stating that they aimed for a video featuring a live performance intertwined with a rough storyline centered around the New York rock ‘n’ roll scene in the mid-seventies. Griffin emphasized his admiration for the era and how bands like Mink DeVille left a significant mark on him. Another exciting addition to the project was Steve Conte, who previously played in Willy DeVille’s band.
The release precedes the band’s upcoming UK tour in December, where they will be playing at various venues across the country. Dubbed the “Cowboys in Pinstriped Suits Tour Part 1”, the band will share the stage with Revenant, The Dirty Strangers, Liberty Slaves, and Alan Clayton on selected dates.
