Jack White, a Detroit native, recently took the stage during the Thanksgiving Halftime Show in a performance that electrified the crowd. White, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with his band The White Stripes, paid tribute to the city that influenced his music during his acceptance speech. The halftime show, where his Detroit Lions faced off against the Green Bay Packers, was headlined by the legendary guitarist.

To make his performance even more special, White decided to bring out fellow Detroit native Eminem for a surprise appearance. The crowd at Ford Field erupted with excitement when the rap icon joined White on stage. The duo delivered an energetic performance of Eminem’s hit “‘Till I Collapse,” followed by The White Stripes’ iconic song “Seven Nation Army.”

White’s latest album, “No Name,” was released last summer and received critical acclaim. The album made a mysterious debut at Third Man Records locations, where fans were surprised with free unmarked vinyl copies. White, staying true to his DIY roots, recorded, produced, and mixed the album at his studio, Third Man Studio. The community-building experience of sharing new music and art with his fans has always been important to White.

In addition to his recent album release, White has been touring extensively. He kicked off his Supply Chain Issues Tour in April 2022, playing over 100 shows across North America, Europe, and Asia. During the tour, White proposed to and married his girlfriend, Olivia Jean, on stage in Detroit. White has since embarked on the No Name Tour, performing at intimate venues and creating a unique ticketing process for fans.

Meanwhile, Eminem released his twelfth studio album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce),” last summer. To promote the record, Eminem published an obituary in the Detroit Free Press announcing the demise of his alter-ego, Slim Shady. The album’s lead single, “Houdini,” features a sample of Steve Miller Band’s “Abracadabra” and a captivating music video directed by Rich Lee. Despite not going on tour for the album, Eminem headlined the Formula 1 Pirelli United States Grand Prix in 2024.

In 2020, Eminem surprised fans with his album “Music to Be Murdered By,” which quickly rose to the top of the charts. The album topped the Billboard 200 and Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart, reaching No. 1 in multiple countries worldwide and selling over 1 million copies in the U.S. alone.

Both Jack White and Eminem continue to captivate audiences with their electrifying performances and innovative music releases, solidifying their statuses as iconic figures in the music industry.
