MI Local: New tracks from Mirror Mask and Bluhm, Dear Darkness and Drew Bardo in-studio
This week on MI Local, the program highlighted the most recent music releases from a variety of artists rooted in metro Detroit and southeast Michigan. The dream-pop duo Bluhm and the garage-goth group Mirror Mask were among those featured. The show also revisited singer/songwriter Corazon Szell’s work, particularly her performance at WDET’s Sounds Like Detroit Showcase in August. Mirror Mask is set to perform with Protomartyr at the Magic Stick, and other noteworthy shows include one at the Ghost Light with Burning Ponies.
During the program, singer-songwriter and poet Drew Bardo, known for the blues-funk fusion track “Wicker Boa,” made an appearance. Bardo shared insights about his latest album, along with details about his upcoming single release and music video premiere on Friday. The episode concluded with Bardo performing his new song “A Fool’s Dream” live, accompanied by Ella Kulik on violin and backing vocals.
