Three Days Grace Achieves 20th No. 1 Hit on Mainstream Rock Chart
Three Days Grace has achieved a significant milestone by securing their 20th No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with their latest track, “Kill Me Fast,” claiming the top spot on December 13. This accomplishment solidifies their position as the second act to achieve this feat, only behind Shinedown, who boasts 21 chart-toppers over the chart’s 44-year history.
This recent success for Three Days Grace follows a string of achievements in 2025, with “Kill Me Fast” being their third consecutive No. 1 hit this year. The band kicked off the year with “Mayday,” which dominated the chart for five weeks starting in January, followed by “Apologies,” which held the peak position for one week in July.
The Canadian rockers made their mark on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart back in 2004 with their first No. 1 hit, “Just Like You,” following their debut track, “[I Hate] Everything About You,” which peaked at No. 4 in 2003. Initially fronted by Adam Gontier, the band achieved 10 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Rock chart during his tenure. Following Gontier’s departure, Matt Walst took over on vocals and led the band to seven more chart-toppers. The latest three No. 1 hits feature contributions from both singers after Gontier’s return to the band.
With 17 No. 1 songs, Five Finger Death Punch ranks third on the list, while Foo Fighters trail with 15 chart-toppers. Legends like Metallica have 14, and acts such as Disturbed, Godsmack, Linkin Park, and Van Halen claim 13 No. 1 hits each. Notably, the last three chart-toppers on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart have come from artists featured on this impressive list, with Five Finger Death Punch’s “The End” and Foo Fighters’ “Asking for a Friend” preceding Three Days Grace’s “Kill Me Fast.”
“Kill Me Fast” currently sits at the 12th spot on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, garnering 2.7 million audience impressions during the week ending December 4. According to Luminate, the song has also made an appearance on the Alternative Airplay chart.
Included in their eighth studio album, “Alienation,” are all three of Three Days Grace’s No. 1 hits from 2025. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart in September, amassing an impressive 96,000 equivalent album units. Fans can purchase the album and stay updated on the band’s upcoming tour dates via their official website.
