Billboard recently released the 2025 year-end Boxscore charts, unveiling the highest-grossing rock tours of the year. Topping the list once again was Coldplay, raking in an impressive $464.9 million from 59 shows across Oceania, Asia, North America, and the United Kingdom. Following closely behind was Imagine Dragons with $241.6 million, Iron Maiden with $150.9 million, and Linkin Park with $150.6 million.

The rock landscape also saw the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Paul McCartney, and Guns N’ Roses among the top-grossing acts for 2025. Notably, two groups with extensive residencies at the Sphere in Las Vegas made it to the Top 10: the Eagles grossed $150.3 million from 32 shows, while Dead & Company brought in $105.5 million over 21 shows. Their earnings were boosted by three concerts in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park in August commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead.

Rock music remained a significant force in live music revenue, accounting for 30.2% of the Top 100 tour grosses in 2025. Despite this, there has been a gradual decline in its dominance from previous decades. Nevertheless, rock tours continue to be a major source of revenue for the industry.

The success of these tours highlights the enduring popularity of rock music and its ability to draw large crowds globally. Fans continue to flock to stadiums and arenas to witness their favorite rock bands perform live, creating unforgettable experiences and memories. The diverse range of acts on the list demonstrates the broad appeal of rock music across different generations and regions.

As the music industry evolves and adapts to changing trends and technologies, rock music continues to maintain its stronghold as a staple genre in the live music scene. The enduring appeal of rock legends and the emergence of new rock bands ensure that the genre remains a vital part of the music landscape.

In conclusion, the 2025 top-grossing rock tours showcase the continued popularity and revenue-generating power of rock music in the live music industry. Despite facing challenges and a decline in dominance, rock music remains a resilient and enduring genre that captivates audiences worldwide. The success of these tours underscores the timeless appeal of rock music and its ability to unite fans in shared musical experiences.
