Girl On The Edge Of The World is the latest album by KEELEY, the musical project led by Dublin-based songwriter and guitarist Keeley Moss. Collaborating with bassist Lukey Foxtrot, drummer Andrew Paresi, and producer Alan Maguire, Moss has crafted this album as a follow-up to their previous release, Beautiful Mysterious. The band also received vocal support from Miki Berenyi from Lush and Sice from The Boo Radleys on this project.

The essence of Girl On The Edge Of The World is deeply rooted in Moss’s storytelling inspired by the tragic story of Inga Maria Hauser, an 18-year-old German backpacker who was murdered in Ireland in 1988. Despite her unsolved case, Inga’s life and untimely death have been chronicled extensively by Moss in her blog. This narrative has further inspired the creation of a documentary film titled She Sings Of Murder And Love by director Virginia Heath, set to release in early 2027.

When asked about her unswerving dedication to exploring Inga’s story, Moss explains, “Inga’s story to me embodies a mix of hope, energy, beauty, mystery, and poignancy. I have felt an overwhelming urge to honor her short life in any way possible, approaching each song from a fresh perspective with every attempt. This subject continues to serve as an everlasting well of creative inspiration for me. While I could delve into conventional themes like love and angst, I choose to stay true to my artistry, wholly immersed in the world of music. It’s my most profound connection to my creativity, allowing me to channel her voice through my songs.”

Girl On The Edge Of The World is scheduled for release on 20 February under Definitive Gaze, featuring the lead single ‘Who Wants To See The World’. Fans can pre-order the album which includes an exclusive six-track EP, Lost Magic. Alongside the album release, KEELEY has announced a UK tour, offering audiences an opportunity to experience their music firsthand at various venues starting in January and continuing through March.

This album marks another significant milestone in Moss’s musical journey, highlighting her distinctive approach to storytelling through music. By exploring the complexities of Inga’s story, Moss embodies a dedication to honoring the memory of the young backpacker. The creative process behind Girl On The Edge Of The World is a testament to Moss’s unwavering commitment to infusing her music with profound narratives and emotional depth.
