Psychic Dancehall festival 2026 features Phil Hartnoll from Orbital
Phil Hartnoll of Orbital fame is set to headline the Wardwick stage at the Psychic Dancehall festival in March 2026. The festival, known for showcasing UK electronic and experimental music, will take place at The Wardwick, Dubrek Studios, and Electric Daisy in Derby. This exciting addition to the festival’s lineup comes as part of a second wave of announcements that also include acts like Immersion, afromerm, and Amoeba Forecast curated by Kikimora at Dubrek Studios. Additionally, BUFFEE, House Cloud, Electroni Kongo, and sm^sher will join the festival, along with new Bunker Stage acts James Glew, Aysup, and Clum.
Other noteworthy performers previously announced for the festival include Pye Corner Audio, Haiku Salut, Voka Gentle, Ivan The Tolerable, Finlay Shakespeare, and Madrigirl. With tickets priced at £30 for second-tier and £40 for full price, attendees can expect a diverse and eclectic music experience.
Phil Hartnoll, a prominent figure in the UK electronic music scene, is best recognized as one half of the iconic duo Orbital, alongside his brother Paul Hartnoll. Starting their musical journey in 1987, the Hartnoll brothers gained fame with their breakout single “Chime”, initially released in December 1989. Their impressive catalogue boasts hits like “Belfast”, “Halcyon”, and “The Box”, showcasing their unique blend of sequencing and live mixing during performances.
Following their split in 2004, Phil Hartnoll ventured into a new project, forming the duo Long Range with Nick Smith, and released their debut album “Madness and Me” in 2007. However, Orbital reunited in 2009, followed by another hiatus in October 2014. Despite the break, Hartnoll continued to pursue DJ gigs, including an appearance at the prestigious Fuji Rock Festival. Orbital once again reunited in 2017, releasing their album “Monsters Exist” on September 14, 2018, captivating audiences with their innovative sound.
