Bad Gyal, Oques Grasses, Tinariwen, and Zaho de Sagazan to headline Act for Palestine Event
International and local musical talents will converge on January 29 for the ACT x PALESTINE concert at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona.
The diverse line-up includes a mix of artists like Morad, Oques Grasses, Bad Gyal, Mushka, Lluís Llach, Fermín Muguruza, Amaia, and Yerai Cortés. Additionally, the legendary Tinariwen from Mali and Zaho de Sagazan from France will grace the stage.
The organizers emphasize the significance of featuring Palestinian voices like Zeyne and Lina Makoul, highlighting their global impact and contribution to the event. The line-up is expected to expand in the upcoming weeks with more artists and public figures set to join.
Tickets for the concert will be available for purchase online starting Friday at 10 am, ranging from €25 to €45. For those unable to attend but still wishing to contribute, a “row zero” donation option will be offered.
Prominent Catalan personalities like football coach Pep Guardiola, actor Eduard Fernández, music band Ginestà, and music duo Svetlana will also participate in the event. Apart from musical performances, stage and audiovisual presentations will be featured, including contributions from individuals and organizations within the cultural realm such as Eduard Fernández and La Fura dels Baus. Furthermore, audiences can expect to witness audiovisual creations from film crews who have recently visited Palestine.
Earlier in the year, the ACT x Palestine group arranged a friendly football match between the Catalan and Palestinian national teams at the Olympic Stadium. The game, more than just a sporting event, aimed to convey a message of hope and solidarity to the Palestinian people, drawing over 30,000 spectators. Ahmed, a Gaza native studying in Barcelona, emphasized the significance of the match, stating that the score was inconsequential in comparison to the broader message it represented.
The upcoming concert promises to be a meaningful and culturally rich experience, uniting artists from various backgrounds to showcase their talent and support for the Palestinian cause. Stay tuned for further updates as the event approaches.
