Texas native Austin Meade is a musician whose love for music was kindled at an early age. Growing up in a small town under the influence of his Baptist preacher father, Meade was taken to rock concerts, immersing himself in guitar-driven storytelling from bands like AC/DC, Journey, and Judas Priest. These early experiences heavily influenced his sound and musical style as he began to carve out his own path in the music industry.

Despite his career demands, Meade places a strong emphasis on family, emphasizing the importance of balancing his roles as a husband and father of two toddlers. His dedication to his family is evident as he often shows up at events covered in grease after working on house repairs or assisting his father with the tour bus. With his parents living just ten minutes away, Meade values the freedom to create his own music while also spending quality time with his children.

Meade’s latest album, “Almost Famous,” released on Nov. 7, is a reflection of his personal history and rock spirit. Recorded partially in a Nashville garage and partially in his Texas bedroom studio, the album explores themes of nostalgia, identity, love, and humor. Drawing inspiration from his earlier work, the album presents a self-referential collection of songs that are both intimate and anthemic in nature.

Several tracks on the album hold significant meaning for Meade. “Honey Do Ya” stands out as a harmonious love song dedicated to his wife, cleverly incorporating the phrase “honey-do list” to convey a heartfelt message. Meanwhile, the closing track, “Like Father Like Son,” delves into the theme of generational ties and family legacy, tracing a connection from Meade’s grandfather to his newborn baby.

The title track, “Almost Famous,” offers a boisterous and humorous take on the music industry and the pursuit of fame while delving into deeper themes of anxiety and purpose. Meade’s unfiltered and honest approach resonates with individuals navigating the complexities of real life, blending the southern soul of his upbringing with the urgency of rock ‘n’ roll.

Continuing to share his energy with audiences, Meade performs at over 300 shows annually throughout the Southwest. Fans in Houston can catch him at Scout Bar on Dec. 18 as part of his Acoustic Christmas tour alongside Mitchell Ferguson and Sterling Elza.

Austin Meade’s authentic and raw musical style positions him as a rising star in the Southern alternative rock scene. With his latest album and captivating performances, Meade is making a name for himself while staying true to his roots and his family-centered values. Watch Meade perform live on “Houston Life” for a glimpse into his musical journey and upcoming tour dates.
