Prosthetic Records in 2022, as well as an EP in 2019. Their old-school Death Metal sound reminiscent of bands like INCANTATION and IMMOLATION stirred up the energy of the crowd, setting the tone for the rest of the night. Despite being relatively new, PHOBOPHILIC has been actively touring, making a name for themselves with appearances at the Austin Death Fest and two North American tours.

Next on stage was the legendary GORGUTS, a band that has returned to the metal scene with a lot of anticipation for new music since their comeback in 2008. While they have only released a full-length album in 2013 titled “Colored Sands” and an EP called “Pleiades’ Dust” in 2016, they treated the audience to two new songs along with tracks from their debut album “Considered Dead” and “Obscura”. Lead singer and guitarist Luc Lemay, along with bassist Colin Marsten and guitarist Kevin Hufnagel, delivered a set filled with melody, groove, and blast beats. The addition of drummer Michel Belanger intensified the energy of their performance, showcasing their unique sound.

The driving force behind honoring Chuck Shuldiner’s legacy is The Atomic Clock, Gene Hoglan, and his partner Steve DiGiorgio, along with Bobby Koelble and Max Phelps. Together, they bring DEATH TO ALL, a concert series that immortalizes the spirit of DEATH through their performances. With a focus on the anniversaries of “Spiritual Healing” (35 years) and “Symbolic” (30 years), the concert series brings to life the essence of Chuck’s music. Throughout the show, the band played entire albums from the anniversaries, bringing fans both old and new together to experience the music as if Chuck himself were performing.

With Steve’s phenomenal bass skills and Max Phelps’ impressive vocal presence, the band faithfully recreates Chuck’s sound and style. Bobby’s exceptional guitar work on “Symbolic” and the influence of legends like James Murphy and Paul Masvidal add depth and authenticity to the performance. The concert seamlessly transitioned from tracks of “Spiritual Healing” and “Human” to “Individual Thought Patterns” and “Symbolic”. The talent and dedication of each member on stage paid homage to the genre and Chuck’s enduring legacy in Death Metal.

The DEATH TO ALL concert series serves as a tribute to one of the founding fathers of Death Metal, bringing back the spirit and essence of Chuck Shuldiner’s music for both long-time fans and newcomers. The performances by PHOBOPHILIC and GORGUTS added layers of intensity and passion to the night, making it a memorable experience for all in attendance. As the night came to a close, the legacy of DEATH continued to live on in the hearts of the fans whose love for the music remains unwavering.
