My Chemical Romance reschedules April concert in Singapore, adds additional show
My Chemical Romance has made the decision to postpone their eagerly awaited performance at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, which was initially scheduled for April 28, 2026. Instead, the American alternative rock band has rescheduled their gig to two shows on November 10 and 11 at the same venue. This alteration is part of their comprehensive rescheduling of the Asian tour, which also encompasses stops in countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, and Thailand.
Existing ticket holders need not fret, as all current tickets will automatically be transferred to the November 10 show. However, for fans who are unable to attend the rescheduled date, they will have the option to request a refund. Further details regarding ticketing for the additional show and the refund process will be communicated by ticketing agency Sistic at a later date.
In an Instagram post, the band emphasized that the shows are not being cancelled and expressed their gratitude for their fans’ understanding and unwavering support during this time of change. My Chemical Romance is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to reunite with their fans in November. This event marks a momentous return for the band to Singapore after nearly two decades since their last performance at Singapore Expo’s Max Pavilion in 2007.
Heralded as emo/pop-punk icons, My Chemical Romance has captured hearts worldwide with their anthems from the early 2000s, like “Welcome To The Black Parade” (2006), “Helena” (2004), and “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” (2004). Established in 2001, the band released their debut album “I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love” the following year, propelling them to iconic status within the rock music realm by the mid-2000s.
Their revolutionary third album, “The Black Parade” (2006), marked a significant shift in emo music and solidified their place as one of the most influential rock bands of the era. Recognized for their contributions, My Chemical Romance received accolades like the Favourite Breakthrough Artist and Favourite Video for “Helena” at the 2006 MTV Asia Awards in Thailand.
After disbanding in 2013, the group came back together in 2019 to embark on their global Long Live The Black Parade Tour. This tour, which commenced in July, sees the band performing The Black Parade album in its entirety across North and South America, thrilling fans globally with their revived energy and spirit.
Led by frontman Gerard Way, My Chemical Romance is not only celebrated for their music but also for Way’s creative pursuits. Way is the mastermind behind the acclaimed comic book and science-fiction Netflix series, “The Umbrella Academy” (2019-2024), showcasing his multifaceted talents beyond the realm of music.
