Kennedy stated, “What, my full name isn’t DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf.” He elaborated that the player doesn’t like his government name and that he called him by that name, which prompted Metcalf to grab him and rip his shirt. Kennedy expressed feeling shocked and a bit rattled by the incident but emphasized that his main focus was on supporting the Lions to victory.

The incident captured on CBS Sports showed Metcalf engaged in a conversation with Kennedy, who sported a blue wig, held a yellow jersey, and leaned over a railing. Subsequently, Metcalf was seen throwing a punch with a closed right fist and walking away, while Kennedy reacted by raising his hands, suggesting that he was struck by Metcalf.

CBS Sports sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson shed light on the incident, mentioning that Metcalf approached the fan in the stands who was displaying a ‘For Pittsburgh’ jersey. Words were exchanged between the two individuals, leading to Metcalf reacting with a swipe. Notably, none of Metcalf’s teammates intervened during the altercation.
