Puscifer to launch new album, announce 2026 North American Tour
Puscifer has unveiled their upcoming fifth album, entitled Normal Isn’t, marking their return to the music scene since 2020’s Existential Reckoning. The band is set to release the 11-song project on Feb. 6, and they have already teased the album by dropping the video for its lead single, “Self Evident”, which was filmed during a special performance at Exchange L.A. in August.
Maynard James Keenan, the frontman of Puscifer, shared in a press release that the new album will explore the band’s post-punk influences, combining dark electronics and gallows humor with more intense, guitar-heavy sounds. Keenan expressed, “We’re definitely leaning into our early influences. It’s the place where goth meets punk. It’s where I came from.” When discussing the lyrical content of Normal Isn’t, Keenan added, “Normal Isn’t reflects this time we are living in. As storytellers and artists, our job is to observe, interpret and report. We take in our environment and share what we see, and what we see around us does not appear normal. Not by a long shot.”
The band crafted the album while on tour supporting last year’s Sessanta EP. Puscifer guitarist and co-producer Mat Mitchell explained, “From the outset, we had discussed an element of rawness and edge, which guitar brings. We got rid of the guardrails and made the music more aggressive.” Fans can expect a departure from their previous sound with a more raw and aggressive approach in Normal Isn’t.
In addition to the album release, Puscifer will hit the road for a North American tour in 2026, commencing on March 20 and including stops in cities like Dallas, Boston, New York City, Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, and concluding in Los Angeles on May 14. Comedian-musician Dave Hill will join the tour as support. Tickets are now available for purchase via Ticketmaster for those interested in experiencing Puscifer live.
